Hey guys!

Quick question: Have you ever lived in a dorm before?

I recently moved into on campus dorms at Dixie State University, and let me tell you what an experience it has been! I've only been here a week and I've already learned so much. I've made a small list of helpful things to know for your college dorm room! As well as including some interesting things about me on the way!

Tip #1.

MAKE IT YOURS

To make something yours is to breathe a little life into your space. Bring along your room decorations from home to show what your personality is like! My room decorations make me feel special and unique and I loved being able to find a spot for everything in my new home. Your new life is starting and I always love a good home base to spring board off of!

My dorm is really small, and it mostly consists of a bed, a desk, and a closet. So I packed it full of my personality to make me feel more at home.

Some of my favorite things include: graphic designs, superheros, astronomical symbols, vinyl records, anything vintage and bright pops of color! (I will give a prize to someone who counts up all the suns, moons, and stars hidden throughout my room!)

I love the feeling of a cozy bed, so I tend to go heavy on the pillows and blankets.

I LOVE pillows!

I have my three favorite accent pillows pictured here:

My grey canvas Love You To The Moon And Back pillow,

My tan canvas Love You More pillow,

And my multi-colored bohemian quilted pillow in the right hand corner.

Are you a pillow person? Tell me in the comments below!

When it comes to superheros, I am a 7 year old boy.

I have always wanted to be a superhero with amazing crime-fighting super powers! But more importantly, I've always wanted to be the love interest to a super hero.. Specifically Spider-Man's love interest.

Peter Parker is the complete package. Messy hair, dreamy eyes, cute glasses and an eye for photography?

I mean, come on!

These two wooden posters hang over my desk along with another Spider-Man print over my bed.

Tip #2.

BRING THINGS TO DE-STRESS

Bringing along my vinyl records was a smart choice for me. I have always loved music and being able to sit down after a long day and play a record from my favorite band. It makes all the stress melt away!

I'll do a more in depth post about my records sometime soon! So keep an eye out for that!

Along with the music trend, I decided to bring my bass guitar with me.

I'm not that good yet, but sometimes after sitting in a classroom learning about trivial things, my mind wants to learn something a little more creative. You know?

Tip #3.

COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR ROOM MATES

You're going to meet a lot of new people in college! Get used to it!

And get to know your room mates! You may end up being best friends, or you could come from totally different backgrounds and have nothing in common. But you will be living with them, so I suggest learning how to communicate well!

Whether it's "Don't come in! I'm changing!" or "Can you clean the bathroom next?" or "Do you want to walk to class together?"

Being able to communicate with them is essential and will help both of you to have a better time.

So there you have it! Some tips for your college dorm!

Let me know in the comments if you have any other tips or experiences from your dorms! I really want to hear them!

Thanks so much!
